Edo 2024: I’m Anointed By God To Defeat Obaseki’s Candidate – Shaibu

Deputy Governor of Edo State, Mr. Philip Shaibu, has declared his intention to run for the governorship position of the state in 2024. Shaibu, who is currently serving his second term as the deputy governor under Governor Godwin Obaseki, stated that he is determined to defeat the anointed candidate of Obaseki in the upcoming elections.
Speaking at a political gathering in Benin City, Shaibu expressed his gratitude to the people of Edo State for their unwavering support and promised to work tirelessly to improve the lives of citizens if elected. He highlighted his achievements in the areas of education, health, and infrastructure development, and emphasized his commitment to sustaining the progress made by the current administration.
Shaibu’s declaration has sparked mixed reactions from political stakeholders in the state, with some expressing their support for his candidacy, while others have criticized his decision to contest against Obaseki’s preferred candidate. However, Shaibu remains undeterred and has vowed to continue his campaign until he emerges as the next governor of Edo State.
