Convoy of Rivers State Commissioner Attacked in Omuma

The Rivers State Commissioner for Energy and Natural Resources, Uche Maximus-Nwafor, says some of his aides were injured in an attack on his convoy in Omuma Local Government Area.

Mr. Maximus-Nwafor tells our correspondent that his team was attacked after the Thanksgiving Service held in Omuma on Sunday to celebrate the Supreme Court victory of Governor Siminalayi Fubara. Mr. Maximus-Nwafor, however, called on the Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu to arrest the perpetrators of the attack. 

An online video showed a man with a head injury receiving treatment in the hospital. The Omuma council chairman has yet to respond to this.
