Wike spoke at Saint Paul Church in Port Harcourt, saying: “All political position must not be given to the North.” He described as unpatriotic, attempts to cause a religious war in Nigeria.
“We must work together in unity and harmony for development,” he said adding that Christians and Muslims should join hands in order to achieve this goal.
Governor Wike spoke on Sunday when he attended Saint Paul Church. The governor delivered his sermon to a large crowd, and he focused on the topic of religion.
“Religion is a personal thing, and every individual should have the right to follow his or her own religion. But no one should be forced to follow a religion,” Wike said.
“We must see that people understand this issue and rise up against any attempt to cause trouble in Nigeria under the guise of religion,” he added.

In his message, Governor Wike said: “Power should be transfered to South, the North should not be given all the position. We should not allow ourselves to be divided by religion or ethnicity. It is important that we rise up together against any attempt to cause trouble in this country under the guise of religion”.
He added that “no one will come from nowhere to save this country” but only those who stood up for truth and peace could bring an end to violence in Nigeria. The governor challenges Nigerians to shine their eyes and not allow only Muslims to hold all political positions in the country.
