USC quarterback Caleb Williams has been named the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner. The freshman from Bellflower, California, was named on Saturday evening during the annual ceremony in New York City. The Trojans have now won three straight years of being crowned Heisman finalists and that streak will continue as they await their next superstar QB to emerge.

Quarterback Caleb Williams stands atop the college football world as he was named the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner Saturday night.

The youngest player to ever win the Heisman Trophy is back in the spotlight again, this time for winning college football’s most prestigious individual award.

Caleb Williams, a freshman at USC, was named the 2022 season’s winner on Saturday night and he was presented his trophy by former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning. The ceremony took place at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colorado.

Williams beat out two other finalists – Florida State running back Taj McGowan and Notre Dame linebacker Jack Dugas – in what was one of the closest races since 2000 when Auburn quarterback Jason Campbell beat Robert Griffin III by just five points over Penn State running back Ki-Jana Carter (2006).

Williams, a freshman quarterback for USC, won the award over two other finalists. Oklahoma quarterback Spencer Rattler was second, while Iowa defensive tackle Davion Fareed-Moore came in third.

Williams’s win was the first time that a USC player has won the Heisman Trophy since Pete Carroll did so in 1995.

Williams completed 66% of his passes this season, throwing for 3,537 yards and 31 touchdowns without being intercepted. He added 669 yards rushing (a team-high) and 10 touchdowns on the ground

The sophomore was the only player in college football history to throw for 3,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards. He had an NCAA record-setting passer rating of 239.6, which is nearly 70 points higher than any other USC quarterback since they began tracking this stat in 2003.

He was also named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year as well as being named a finalist for both Heisman Trophy (he finished fourth) and Davey O’Brien Award (second).

Last year’s winner was Kansas running back Pooka Williams Jr. Spencer Rattler was the 2023 winner and left Oklahoma early to enter the NFL draft where he was selected by Jacksonvillle with the No. 2 overall pick.

NBA Roundup: 5 Takeaways from Warriors & Celtics Finals rematch

The Warriors and Celtics met in the NBA Finals last season, with the Golden State team coming out on top by winning 4-1.

This year’s rematch between Boston and Golden State is expected to be one of the biggest games of all time. Both teams are still looking for their first title since 1986 (when Larry Bird won his second MVP award), so these two teams have plenty at stake when they take the court on Sunday night at 9 p.m. ET in Oakland, California.

The Celtics were without forward Gordon Hayward due to injury during Game 1 of this series; however, he made his return during Game 2 on Tuesday night after missing more than two months because of a broken left ankle suffered during spring practices back in February 2019!

UFC 282 results: Raul Rosas Jr becomes the youngest UFC winners as Paddy Pimblett earns controversial decision

The UFC’s featherweight division is one of the most competitive in all of MMA, but there have been some standouts over the years. Raul Rosas Jr., a 25-year-old from Guadalajara, Mexico, has become one of those standouts. He earned his way into this fight on New Year’s Day after defeating both Alvaro Herrera and Leonardo Morales over the course of 2017.

Paddy Pimblett was considered by some to be an underdog heading into this fight as well—but he didn’t let that affect him at all! In fact, he would go on to win his first UFC title by defeating Rosas Jr., who was more aggressive than his opponent throughout their five rounds bout (2-3).
